Took my kids on a quick fishing trip. They loved it. For it being unplanned, the kids had a great time. We finished quick then went on a hike, an finished it off with them playing at the park.
This is a well kept 9 hole course considering the budget they have to work with. No this is not a tournament play course with beautiful fairways and manicured greens but it is a challenge to play. The first hole forces you to hit the ball straight if you expect a chance at a 4. The 5th hole makes you think this will be an easy par 4 util your best drive lands in that gully and number 7 has the stack of railroad ties protecting the green making par a 50 50 chance. In the end they have what looks like an easy par 3, only 150 yards but for some reason your normal club won't reach the green and if you are lucky, you do not land in the woods guarding the left side of the fairway.
It is fun to play and well worth the inexpensive green fees. Bring your camera. The vistas are worth recording. I recommend it for any golfer, pro or beginner. If you are there on a Friday, Saturday or Monday morning look for me around 0700!
Went to a class here put on by The Plum Creek Watershed and some other Texas organization had a great time. Park was pretty too
very beautiful scenery! but some people get noisy at night; still good though. plus theirs a swimming pool!
Beautiful campsites, be warmed there are only 10 water/electric campsites and 10 water-only tent campsites, so book early. The water/electric sites have very nice covered picnic tables with a fire ring and BBQ pit. The grounds there are grass-covered, and across the path is the golf course, very nice views.
